Happy Friday everybody :)
If I had to pick a high point for the day, I'd say it was riding in the elevator in complete silence with Adam and Brian - both who are about four inches shorter than me. I've never felt so tall in my life, lol, they're such a couple midgets. Love 'em to death, tho'.
Had a talk with my stepmom last night, didn't really get any answers to stuff I'm looking for, but she pretends to understand. I just miss my dad sometimes, and I want to know what happened to us. He and I sat up 'til almost midnight last night talking about everything but us - politics, Batman, the Green Lantern, the Green Lantern Power Oath, and the fine art of soffit and facia. I told him if I ever have twin girls, I'd name them just that - Soffit and Facia - and he said those were fine, strong names.
I'm looking forward to spending time working this weekend. My mum's going to be gone for most of the next two days, so there'll be a nice bit of peace and quiet to be had around the house. Somebody gave me the most amazing (and honest!) feedback today on some of my pieces, so I'm starting to feel a little better about the community art show thing. This was after reading last year's brochure, which included names and details on some ninety-two billion local artists, all who proclaim to have won awards in such-and-such category. My goal, I think, is to hopefully bring something new and different to the event, and show people that every piece of art doesn't have to be finely polished and perfected. You don't fucking have to color inside the lines, ya know. I sorely doubt anyone will get anything, but my stepmom is happy I'm doing it, and I think Waynie is glad, at least.
I'm finding that it feels really great to have something to work toward, rather than just moping alone in my room scribbling and convincing myself that nothing I draw will ever see the light of day.
Leaving for home shortly, can't wait to see all the animals, as I missed them last night. One thing I hate about the full time job, s'it leaves so little time for rolling around with the critters. Anyway. I hope all of you are coming to the end of a lovely week, and even if it wasn't lovely, it's over now and I hope you'll enjoy the weekend. Happy Friday, happeh happeh happeh :)
p.s. -
trisianna , I keep forgetting to go through the stamps, wasn't home last night, but I'll dig through 'em over the weekend and see if there aren't a few you might want. Maybe maybe.
