Shiny...
My current obsession for Firefly/Serenity has no bounds, it abands across rolling green plains with nary a care in the world, caparisoned in rose petals and glittering with silver longing.
Usually my obsessive fads last about 2 weeks but this one is lingering longer than usual while I await the movie release. I can't wait! *melts into quivering puddle of goo*
Just picked myself up the Serenity Visual Companion in Pulp Fiction, it's quite shiny I must say. I'm torn between absorbing it cover to cover or waiting until after I've seen the movie next week sometime and then reading it. I've snuck a few looks inside and I should be able to ogle the pics without to much spoiler-stuff as long as I don't glance too hard at the screenplay in the last couple of chapters.
There should be some nice ship type artwork and pics kicking around inside hopefully which will come in handy in conjunction with the soon-to-be-bought Serenity RPG if I ever get around to running a Firefly campaign one of these months.
*cough*It should also come in handy if I decide I want to try my hand at fanfics after I see the movie.*cough*
I must say I'm looking forward to reading the History of the 'Verse bits at the front. I really must get my hand on a copy of the official firefly dvd boxset sometime soon apparently it has all kinds of deliciousness stashed away in the extras section.
I just have to walk around now for the next week avoiding all bookshops which might possibly be selling the Visual Companion cheaper than the rather racey $40 I forked over for mine from Pulp Fiction. Otherwise I'll get all depressed and start thinking about how many extra times I could have seen the movie had I just saved $xx buying it from -insert store here-. That's what you get for bookshop loyalty I suppose. ;)
