Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Luna made the whole movie for me. Besides that, I liked it and probably I’ll watch it again someday. Certain things bothered me a lot, but I can live with them. But Luna, oh god, I love her so much. ♥

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Fortunately, Persona3 will be released in English a few days ( Read more... )

I think the main reason why people say small, is because well. I WANT HIKAGO FIC EVERYDAY. WHERE IS THE HIKAGO FIC!? GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEEEEE. D:

Which is why a lot of people have been going. Post. Be active! Steal fandom back if you think we're taking over. D:

When Hikago tribune first came up, I was gobsmacked. I mean I follow a bunch of Hikago comms, and this is really unusual for me in any fandom because I go. MY FLIST IT IS DROWNING. *defriendz comm* There's not that much daily activity, especially when you compare to fandoms where the canon is still going.

I think this is something that is changing, but fandom inertia is slow if your stuck in an old mindset.

I do think that it's unfair to other writers who aren't super active to be treated as if their suddenly not part of fandom. D: I agree that's happening.

That's also. A very... LJish trait and one that happens in EVERY fandom.

See. Girls don't exist on the internet, boys don't exist in fandom, et all posts.

But on the other hand, that particular active circle or whatever it is. Are sort of everywhere? And I think they are willing to look outside the circle, it's just, it's sort of hard sometimes. I mean, looking outside the circle, implies that you have to actively go outside your comfort zone. That's exhausting to do after a while.

It's why I still go to ff.net! //I don't like format on ff.net. D:

And. ;.; Hikago. Hikago. I TROLLED AFF.NET SCROUNGING FOR FIC TO READ FOR YOU.

//hates AFF.net. I don't care for ff.net but I hate aff.net.
//At least attempted to read every hikago fic on there at one point. I didn't do it, but every fic was opened up in a tab.

But the thing is? Largely I do feel like I recognise all the names I see posting to the comm. I might not be friends with them, but I go. Oh! That's the person that did that awesome Ogata fanart. Or Oh! they did such and such.

And I'm really really bad with usernames largely.

So sometimes I wonder about the not being welcomed into circle things. Well how hard did you try?

Well, in my case, I don't try because I don't care. xD

I'm happy with not being active enough for someone to remember me, and honestly, I have only about two/three friends who read Hikaru no Go. I'm used to getting almost to none feedback every time I post, and I love the few I can get, because I write for obscure fandoms (or in Spanish, where it is even harder) and for myself.

And wow, you're brave. I never dared to look around AFF.net. xD

But... maybe it shouldn't be about not trying hard? I mean, you can't force them to like you, just be yourself, but some people feel intimidated and they shouldn't.

While I don't remember seeing you in Hikago, I do remember your username in a one two three, kind of way, because you wrote awesome princess princess fic.

So. I can tell you that I'm grateful that you write for obscure fandoms. :D And I'm sure people who prefer to read in spanish appreciate it too.

Aff.net is annoying and irritating; but it does contain fic I've never seen elsewhere. @.@;

But... maybe it shouldn't be about not trying hard? I mean, you can't force them to like you, just be yourself, but some people feel intimidated and they shouldn't.
I agree with this and in anycase as long as you're yourself, you should always be able to find your own group and have fun.

Just. Er. If you want people to comment and interact with - you need to make yourself available. =/ People can't MAGICALLY discover you, even on the interwebz. And well, if you just want to do your own thing, that's cool, but the comment I was reacting to implied that they wanted spotlight in the fandom. But... that doesn't happen by magic. Sometimes you can be lucky, but... Most people in the fandom spotlight put effort into the things that got them there. Whether it was deliberate or not.

Like there are a few people who intimidate me; but I don't let them stop me from doing what I want to do.

Mmm, I wrote a crossover with ungalad for blind_go and recently a Waya/Akira for springkink, like I said I need to write more. xDu

I feel more at easy when I write in Spanish, in English, I always tend believe I'm doing it all wrong and I have to be told a lot that I'm getting better and I shouldn't worry. But yes, obscure fandoms need more love. ♥

Then I should check Aff.net. I did before, but I never tried again. o.x

I completely agree now, they have to work out their way in order to gain something. Just I don't get why people want the spotlight in the first place, I mean, yeah, I want concrit and more comments sometimes but I'm happy with just writing.

You know? I should stop feeling insecure and just write for hng_prompts.

I agree about the circle bit (well, mostly with all in fact xDu), really, it isn't bad. But claiming they all know each other isn't fair from my own point of view, because they're a lot of writers out there who aren't know at all. Of course, anyone shouldn't feel forced to know everyone, I think just saying 'I know a couple of writers' instead should be better? I don't know. D:

I can totally relate about how exhausting going outside your comfort zone can be, but if you want more fanfics, that is the only way to find more, right? ♥

It happens everywhere, it's true. Still I think it's more active than most fandoms, if only I could get as many fics from fandoms I like much better but nobody cares enough to write in them... xD
