On a bridge...

Well friends and folks, I apologize for not having updated for a week after I said I was going to do daily updates- this last week has been fairly hectic in a variety of manners!

A week ago today, I was on a plane back from Texas from Erica's cousin Cheryl & her husband Jason's wedding over the last weekend! It was so fantastic and fun - an excellent chance to get to know Erica's extended family yet more, of which I was very happy. We had lots of fun times & crazy moments together - definitely a trip I'll remember for a while, and it was fun to get out of Washington for the first time this year! (well, okay, aside from Oregon...). :) Erica's family is so genuine & happy & friendly, and so welcoming that it's wonderful to be around them all, and the wedding was beautiful, in a gorgeous Catholic church in Dallas - with a beautiful reception - overall probably one of the best weddings I've ever attended (and boy, is this the summer for weddings!!)

Amusing highlight of the trip: Erica's adorable grandmother coming up & telling me "I have 12 more grandkids to marry off - Now, I'm a busy woman, a traveling woman - and next summer is filling up fast! I need a [wedding] date for you both to put on my calendar!"

Downside of the trip - our plane last Sunday was cancelled due to rather inclimate weather, thus relegating us to a local hotel for the night, followed by last Monday's brisk 4am wake-up for our 6am flight back here. That was a sleeepy day!

Then, last week on Tuesday night, I traveled down to my place in Vancouver for some relaxing time with my own extended family, sort of a mini family-reunion of sorts. That was a good time and chance to catch up with people a bit! I had fun talking to my newlywed cousin Bethany & husband Owen about a variety of things, and Owen and I took my new(ish) car out for a spin - he was pretty excited about it!

Drove back Wed. night (very sleepily), work for two days, then with Erica headed back down to Vancouver (again), making a relaxing stop at her house for some Wii action with her parents & some hot tub relaxing, then to my house for some sleep & Nicole & Luke's wedding on Saturday. This was definitely fun, and a great chance to  catch up with a lot of friends I haven't seen altogether in one place for a long time, and have some delicious tasting rolls at the same time!

Afterwards, we headed out to Malibu Grand Prix for some fun go-cart-racing action with Jason & his girlfriend & cousins. Spendy, but quite entertaining! Then, we drove around Portland & the West Hills for a bit, doing a bit of a fun childhood-reminiscing trip to check out some of Erica's early houses & school - very fun and exciting to see these legendary places I've only heard of from her stories! Then, a delicious meal at the waterfront Old Spaghetti Factory which i hadn't been to since Snowball 2000, and then a relaxing drive back up to Seattle.

Yesterday was a lot of fun as well, with sleeping in, some shopping around Seattle with Erica, church, dinner, and making a fun cake together while watching the Office!

Erica and I are truly enjoying the days together very much lately, feeling happy & very content together in all manners - a fun and exciting feeling - just the way summer together should be. I've never before felt that someone was so perfect for me in every single way as she is, and my happy smiling face is sure proof of that! Summer is going super well, and it's hard to believe it's nearly August already! It definitely feels much more like summer than last year, though, which is a fantastic sign of good things.

Today, I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things with my Internet Marketing campaigns, and start some more serious business development in that area. This week should be relaxing for the most part, just enjoying summer's warmth, Erica's beauty, and all the truly wonderful things life has to offer :)

Today's SOTD is so good that I may perhaps dub it the chill-out Song of the Summer, just as last year's song was Lustral - Broken. Whether you listen to this SotD in the early morning or the evening, its beauty will drift & wave through your thoughts as gently as the summer breeze gently stirs the leaves on trees. Enjoy, enjoy.
