Title: We're Not So Different After All
Characters: Ana Lucia. Mentions of Christian.
Rating: G
Warnings: Spoilers for Two For The Road only.
Summary: Written for
lost_in_108 prompt #69: run. As Ana reads a newspaper article about how Christian has been found dead, she realises it's not too late to face what she's running from.
As Ana reads the obituary for the man she’d known as Tom, she wishes that she’d handled their parting a little better. Maybe things would have gone differently.
Or maybe not. “Disgraced Ex-Chief of Surgery Found Dead,” screamed the headline, and as Ana reads on, she understands why Christian Shephard was running, from what happened back in Los Angeles, from the son whose attempts to help he had found so hard to accept.
“You’re pathetic,” Ana had snapped, but was she really any less so? Was she any less cowardly by running from her own mistakes, from her mother?
It was too late for Christian, but not Ana.
