Summary: Written for lost_in_108 prompt #68: match. Goodwin reflects on how being around Ana makes him realise neither Harper nor Juliet is the perfect match for him.
Goodwin smiles to himself as he tells Ana that he doubts she’ll find any dry matches, knowing as he does that on his people’s side of the island, he could find all the matches he wants.
He talks with Ana for a while, tells her he was in the Peace Corps (not technically a lie; he was a member once). Over time, it comes to be a relief to be around her, away from the cold fish Harper, from Juliet who was with him in body, but never in mind.
It doesn’t matter what Ben says. Ana’s the best match for his people, for their work, for him.
