Summary: Written for lost_in_108 prompt #51, greatest hits remix. I've remixed He Was Never Mine To Keep (for prompt 39), changing the POV to Daniel's and setting it slightly earlier in the action. Daniel remembers his former life and realises Eloise has prevented him from moving on.
The day Daniel first saw her, sitting outside the museum eating her chocolate bar, he’d felt as though he already loved her.
And when Charlotte introduced herself at the concert, he knew. He saw their meeting on the freighter, their time on the island, the time in the Hostile tent when he’d said he loved Charlotte.
Eloise approached him backstage, the congratulatory smile freezing on her face as she recognised Charlotte.
Daniel looked at her, and he knew.
She’d known what was going to happen and she sent him to the island anyway.
And she knew the truth now, and was keeping him from moving on, from Charlotte.
