what's today again?

Oh my goodness, its been such a terribly long. long week. I am beat. I know I want to get back on track to the good life I am headed in, but right now really- I'm still in a daze of couch potating. Best way to begin snapping out of my funk is to get back to what I've started in making Every Monday Matter. I don't think anyone has been reading these, I've really been trying to dump it all to Face book. What matters more is that I am doing and reflecting on the little accomplishments I can make in living and providing a better life. Sadly, I will tell you that I have already caved everyday of my v-day exhausting week and ate the one item I thought I could live without. Fries! What was I thinking? I know they aren't all too good for me, but they can't really be all that bad either. it is a vegetable, and the best way to get kids to start eating veggies too. Whatever, I'll just stick with my abnormally large salads. The next monday is about getting rid of junk mail. I do this already by shredding it all as soon as I walk back into my apartment. We used to keep a big box of these to shred on a later day, but that eventually took three days of shredding out of my life. Apparently, there is more I can do to prevent it from even being sent:
TAKE ACTION TODAY
  • Write “Please do not rent or sell my name” next to your name whenever you enter a contest, make a purchase or donation, join a buyer’s club, order a product by mail, subscribe to a magazine, or return a warranty card.
  • Call the customer service number of the company or organization that is sending you unwanted mail and ask to be removed from its list.
  • Remove your name from several national mailing lists through the Direct Marketing Association’s Mail Preference Service. You can register online or by mail. This service is available only to residential addresses, and your request is honored for five years.
  • Contact major consumer credit bureaus to have your name removed from mailing lists used for credit offers.
  • Opt out of prescreened, preapproved, or prequalified offers of credit and insurance. You have two choices: you can opt out of receiving them for five years or opt out of receiving them permanently.
  • Stop calls from telemarketers for five years through the National Do Not Call Registry by calling toll-free from your home phone 888.382.1222 or TTY 866.290.4236.

I'll work on these first, before writing my letter to a hero. Have a good one!
