This and that make a post

1.  I'm in Central Square a week, ten days ago?  And a guy just up and decides to take off his pants.  The way you do, at the bus stop in Central Square.  Just takes his pants off.  Not wearing underwear.  Sits down on the bus stop bench.

Eventually some people who apparently know him come by and go "YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR PANTS ON!"  Which he eventually does.  Central Square man...

2.  My old roommates Stephen and Bill will probably weep to know I'm apparently beginning a lead collection.  Warmachine.  Happily Warmachine is generally playable with many fewer units than Warhammer.  Something like 10 minis constitute a viable small fighting group.  And with Christmas gift certificates, so far I've only spent about 4 bucks, for shipping.  I'm trying to keep it sane.

3.  Black Lightning is a decently fun film, produced by Timur Bekmambetov  It's Spider Man, except set in Moscow instead of New York, and with flying car powers, not spider powers.  But basically, Spider Man.  Here's a trailer, the movie itself is currently available on Netflix streaming:

4.  Troll Hunter was great fun.  A cross between Blair Witch Project and Ghostbusters, this Norwegan film follows a group of Troll Hunters as they try to find out why a group of normally reclusive and controllable trolls have recently been attacking people and animals in rural areas.  Armed with cowbells, bait sheep, and atheism (apparently Trolls can smell Christian faith), they drive around the countryside, filming their encounters.

What I liked about Troll Hunter was the dry sense of humor, this is definitely a comedy or horror/comedy, and that, unlike many shakycam "documentary" style thrillers, this wasn't 99 percent tease.  I'm not spoiling anything to say, there are definitely trolls in this film.  Not the shadows of trolls or the maybe sound of trolls or the psychological impression of trolls or trolls as a metaphor for humanity's fears about aging or terrorism or whatever.  Troll Hunter is about hunting honest to god, hanging out under bridges Trolly Trolls.  Also on Netflix Streaming.

5.  More K-Pop.  Genie, by SNSD/Girls Generation (Korean but in this case singing in Japanese), and Turn it Up by T.O.P., of Big Bang.  Turn It Up is about how awesome life is when you're T.O.P., Genie is about legs.  Well, I think it's about granting wishes, but clearly what the viewer is wishing for is legs.
