So, my grandma visited last week, and she was insisting (again) that I take my Sweet Sixteen pictures. She doesn't like the fact that I never took my Quinceñera pictures, so she's settled for Sixteen.
You see, I successfully avoided taking my Quinceñera pics last summer. I mean, my cousin took them, and they came out really nice. Why not feel like a princess for a day? Why not follow a time-tested tradition?
But the more important question is: Why spend all that money on pictures? I tried to explain this to my grandma. I said that there were other, more useful awys to spend this money, like for college. She just didn't want to understand. So, later in the week we went shopping, and she bought me a nice spring dress. A pretty green one that brings out the color of my eyes.
Oh, the funniest thing was when she told me to have a party. She told me to go dancing (lol) or maybe go to the movies with my friends. "In this dress?" I asked. "Of course," she answered.
I don't think so.
So, my plan (and mom totally agrees) is to stage a party. I'll invite a couple friends over to my house. I'll have the dress on, and we'll take some pics. There'll be cake, and perhaps a Birthday banner. Then I'll change, and we'll all go see a movie.
Tata, I love you, but please understand.
