11. The Hold Steady -- Constructive Summer
One of the most hope-inspiring, optimistic songs I've ever heard. For a party-rock anthem, it's the rock song that's brought me closer to crying than any other this year.

12. TV on the Radio -- Halfway Home
"Free your mind, your ass will follow."

13. Subtle -- Hollow Hollered
This album was overall pretty dull, especially compared to the skullcrusher For Hero:For Fool. Still, Doseone and crew have power in them, this is electrosoul that will cave in your face.
This is from their album to year's ago, and it's a bit more up-tempo than "Hollow Hollered", but it's got the same flair and punch.

14. Harvey Milk -- Decades
Sludge, tar, growling and...flow. No video, though; Harvey Milk search on YouTube is just giving me shit for that new movie (which is a good'n, by the way).

15. Jeremy Jay -- Heavenly Creatures
Folk songs tend to easily climb my lists, and this song exemplifies exactly why that is. It's a very likeable song by a pretty likeable guy (if a little excessively retro at times). If I were drunk enough, I'd want to cuddle with this guy.
