multiple hugo awards(among her other honors). Octavia Butler
was found dead on Saturday, Feb.25th with severe head injuries.
Accounts vary on what the cause of the death was, it is known
that she fell outside her home, and by the time she was found,
taken to the hospital and operated upon, she was dead.
The science fiction community, that she helped enrich so
brilliantly, will miss her dearly. Truly, Octavia Butler was a
hero like my favorite character, Akin,which means 'hero' in
yoruba(my culture), and is the name of my oldest brother, she
helped expand the borders of thought among writers and readers
of science fiction.
