As with last year, this post will make the most sense if you've read the posts that go before it:
Kind of mixed reaction for me this year. I was happy to see
ninjahijinx and
linxan_terrano take up the game this year, as well as
noirem's kinda-oblivious contribution and
ooka's somewhat-unique take on the event as a continuation of last year. For myself, I kind of had to pull a reset because at the end of last year's storyline I was, well, dead.
On the other hand, it was a little frustrating to see fewer overall posts from my flist this year, but I think that just comes down as a function of most people I know having real lives. This time around I also saw my first real instance of someone getting really upset about the realism with which some of us approached the story. It made me think a little, but I finally reached the conclusion that while sensitivity to some of their concerns is appropriate (a random panicked-sounding post out of nowhere is unsettling to say the least), it shouldn't require massive backpedaling nor bright red disclaimers; the alternative would leave literature either rather boring or walking so lightly on eggshells as to be useless anyway.
On the whole, I'd like to do it maybe one more time. To make it happen, though, I'd need to get some close cooperation from people nearby to do it right. But damn right it's on my calendar.
