I finally reluctantly caved to peer pressure and I try my best to stomach facebook, but god I hate it so much. Tumblr sucks, the point of twitter baffles me, and instagram is lovely, but it's not words.
Now I know why I never let go.
Because I knew that someday, somewhere I'd need to rediscover the joy of writing.
I hope people are still using livejournal, because all the alternatives suck, and I've tried them all. And one of the joys of writing this way is connecting with people I might otherwise never connect with. Discovering slices of lives and the inside of people's heads is one of the major joys of my life.
Privately, I journal a bit on my hackintosh, and there's a place for that too. But I need this. If someone stumbles across this and it resonates in any way, drop me a line. Don't be a stranger.
I have one request. Please don't heart this. If it moves you, say something, anything at all. The beauty of livejournal is words, not likes. That's one of the many things that makes this place better than facebook, better than reddit.
