Palin doesn't give speeches, she preaches

It just hit me that one of the reasons I detest listening to Palin speak is because she doesn't give political speeches, she preaches. Next time you get the chance, listen to the cadence of her words (the words are, as usual, mostly meaningless). It's not Southern Baptist Preacher, but it's definitely From the Pulpit.

And it's damned annoying.

funny, I always thought Obama sound suspiciously preachy in his cadence and delivery!

*still does not know who she will vote for*

*prods that libertarian party candidate again*

OMG, have you guys seen the freakshow that is the Green Party nominee????

I don't get creepy preacher vibe from Obama.

The Greens *usually* have a freakshow.

Rolling Stone's got a great interview with Obama, too!

You gotta imagine what she sounds like when she's telling off her kids.

Based on how the kids are turning out, I suspect she doesn't tell them off at all.

Such a lovely track record for a 'family values' candidate.

Thanks, but no thanks, I'll stick to *my* family's values. We set a much higher standard.

Oh! Wait! Maybe *that's* what they mean about "liberal elite"!

Earlier she was going on about a soldier who'd died and talking about the family and it just hit me that it sounded like a minister running through the 'prayer list' just before he started his sermon. (And sounding just about as bored with the whole thing.)

*rolls eyes*

I've got nothing to lose.

It's the most honest thing she's said since this started.

For me, it's not so much the cadence of her speech, but the message behind her words. And she's literally preaching to the choir.

The message is pretty much void of meaning. Once you remove the intentional twisted truths and the outright lies, there's little left.

Yes, it's void of real meaning, but it's still saying what her evangelical supporters want to hear. She could say anything as long as she didn't offend them, and they'd still eat it all of it up with a spoon.

I find it interesting the McCain/Palin campaign tried to make an issue out of the "lipstick on a pig" comment being about Palin, yet they themselves have turned her into their attack dog. I guess they figure they can shout anyone down by saying they're sexist.

Yep. I think McCain thought Obama would use race against him and that's why he went with a woman VP. He has underestimated Obama at every turn.

I can't *wait* for tonight's debate. :-)
