Is there anything more nerve wracking than waiting to hear back from your betas?

At least in the writing portion of life. Lots of other things are much more nerve wracking, but as I'm practicing being overly dramatic, I thought I'd go with it. (Still not seeing the draw of drama queen-hood, but I'll give it more time. There must be something to it given how many folks practice it, right?)

I got Worthy off to my betas around ( Read more... )

my fic, shape shifter, writing, ncis slash fic, sg1 slash fic

Huh. I usually have trouble with supernatural elements in NCIS stories (my particular quirk, not a value judgment)... but I must admit that I am intrigued.

(Carrion eaters? Jackals? Vultures? Corvids of one variety or another? *ponders*)

Oh, I get that this sort of thing isn't for everyone (though there's nothing supernatural in this AU). My first fic in my reentry to fic writing was mpreg. :-) So, yeah, while this stuff doesn't qualify as a "kink" for me, it's still a "thing" and my thing isn't necessarily your thing and that's cool. :-)

There are all sorts of carrion eaters. We don't meet any, but they get a mention.

For me, the draw for writing this one is the same as the draw for writing that SG1 mpreg - I grew up reading science fiction. :-) Both ideas are such *cool* science fiction concepts (though shape shifting is usually relegated to fantasy) that I can't resist when I see an opening. :-)

Huh. Maybe I have a world building kink. :-)

Worldbuilding? *ears perk up* See, now that turns my crank! :-D

And from what you say... shapeshifting that's not supernatural, huh... I am now doubly intrigued.

I'll get you, my pretty! :-)

I was watching Master and Commander last night and thinking I should add a section to my notes file called "Natural History". ;-)

Ooh, a better resource than TV documentaries? ;-) Whoo-hoo!

Just don't ask me about the physics of shape changing. Tony and Gibbs don't know, don't care and McGee will never admit that he doesn't know, either. :-)

LOL!!! The slash does fairly leap off the screen. :-)

But then, it pretty much leaped off the page, too. :-)
