I just ranted over on fanficrants about writers who get some incredibly stupid things wrong, like Jack being in the army. Or, since it was a multi-fandom rant, Gibbs being in the army. I included one thing that isn't quite as stupid simply because it's not quite common knowledge, nor has it been mentioned in canon, but folks, there ain't no such a thang as a 'former Marine'. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Take that back, I think Gibbs *did* say something to that effect once.
