Today marks the 10th Anniversary of the death of Frank Sinatra. Working for the Mafia, you are privy to information you otherwise may have overlooked ;-)
Also, my birthday is only one month away (Is it me or is May just fucking flying by?) My birthday wish list is as follows:
A small third-world country
All expenses paid trip to Antarctica
Poison ivy
Tickets to either Peter Murphy, Ours, or R.E.M, all of whom are playing a show in the month of June.
However, in lieu of all that, I would gladly accept a call from my friends saying, "Hey Dax. Happy birthday. We think you're a pretty nifty guy."
Speaking of new stuff, The Dresden Dolls are set to release their second round of miscellaneous stuff in their career in America on May 20th, on a collection entitled No, Virginia (Considering their last album was entitled Yes, Virginia, it's pretty clever, ain't it?) Thanks to the magic of file-sharing programs and illegal software pirating, I have gotten my paws on it early, and am listening to it right now. I'm only on the second song; don't ask me yet what I think of it.
Oh, and I actually went out and bought Nick Cave's Dig Lazarus, Dig!!! See, I'm living proof that downloading music leads to album sales. It's good. It's no No More Shall We Part, but we'll accept it from an enigmatically aging Nick (notice I didn't say graceful.)
Holy shit, there's guitars on this new Dresden Dolls album. Neat-o.
