A bad dream

May 06, 2003 12:00

I had a dream last night. This is an account of it, with a few minor corrections made to make it flow a little better and to protect the guilty who might otherwise appear in it:

I find myself in a court room, before a panel of three judges, all of whom are known to me, Dom’s who I have little respect for, for various reasons. The middle judge is masked, and on a higher chair than the other two. My hands are tied behind my back, and I am clearly on trial, although I feel defiant.

My advocate steps out beside me - he is another Dom, someone I know and respect deeply, although not someone I would ever have thought would defend me.

The trial begins:

JUDGE: Teine, You are accused of the following crimes. To each, You will respond with Your plea, in turn.

JUDGE: Kneeling at the feet of a submissive in a public place

ADVOCATE: Your Honours, on that occasion my client was unfastening the submissives shoes, and hence pleads Not Guilty.

JUDGE: Failing to claim the 20 years of experience to which You are entitled.

ADVOCATE: Your Honours, my client feels that one experience 20 years ago does not make 20 years of experience, and that a “couple of years” is more indicative of his actual understanding.

JUDGE: Speaking to a collared submissive without asking their dominant’s permission first.

ADVOCATE: Your Honours, the submissive had been a friend of my client’s since before she was collared, and my client had not been told that permission was expected to be asked.

JUDGE: Failing to address other Dominants in an appropriately respectful manner.

ADVOCATE: Your Honours, …

TEINE (interrupts): Your Honours, I refuse to address a man I do not respect as Sir. Nor to place any expectation upon my submissive that she do so. I won’t hold back from talking to a friend because of social expectation - although I would if she asked me to, or her Dominant asked me to. Respect is earned, it does not come from a self-assigned Dominant label. I am not disrespectful or rude to other Dominants, I address them as fellow human beings, but I will not treat them or myself as a superior class of person.

JUDGE: I need hardly even read the next charge, that of showing open disdain for necessary social conventions. Your words prove the charge, Sir.

JUDGE: It is clear that You show no respect for the Guild Of Dominants, Teine. It is clear that You do not respect those of greater experience within the Guild. You do not seek the advice of Your Elders and Betters, You encourage others to set aside Our well-considered rules, You do not present the role of a suitably Dominant male.

JUDGE (glances at other Judges, who nod): We find You, Teine, guilty of not being suitably “Domly”. As such, it is Our judgement that We impose on You the most serious punishment. You will be expelled from the Guild Of Dominants, and forbidden from ever again wearing its badge of honour.

JUDGE: From this day forth, you will no longer be entitled to use the Capital Letter, either upon your name, or upon pronouns referring to you.

Teine wakes up. Oops, sorry…

teine wakes up. Another day in the Real World for me. Guess that is what i get for pissing off G.O.D.
