[Jilly had been quiet since the love experiment and draft. It had been too much, in too short a period of time, and she’d needed to think. And one of the ways that she did that best was with her art. She’d gone out occasionally, little forays into town or the woods to stretch stiff limbs and replenish her dwindling supply of groceries, but otherwise she’d been perched at her easel, letting her thoughts spill across the canvas is splashes of color.
Until now. Jack’s painting was finished, paints just slightly tacky after several days of drying, and a second was half done, the shadowed form of a winged figure just beginning to stand out from the underpainting. There was more work to be done, but with clouds stealing the light and thunder keeping a steady drum beat in the sky, the artist girl was finally slipping back to the characteristic restlessness that kept her so busy back home.
She needed to get out.
Rinsing off brushes (no point in damaging perfectly good supplies), she’ll address the journal]
Back home, the Crow Girls used to say that thunder was just Wakiya flapping his wings, or that Raven might be stirring his pot, deciding whether the world needed to be recreated or not. And I’ve heard the angels bowling version, too.
Personally, I like the thought that Coyote is playing music and the drumbeat is the only part that’s carrying far enough to be heard.
[and, that said, she’s had enough of staying inside. Never mind the rain. She can be found out in the town, dancing through puddles, mentally recording the sight of raindrops bouncing off the fountain and the streets, and just generally enjoying the day. ]
[ooc: Feel free to dance with her, laugh at her, or (for any poor new feathers stranded out in the cold and wet) ask her for directions to the welcome center. She’s in a good mood]
