Me. On a lake. Ha ha ha ha ha. Don't worry, no camping was involved. Thank God.
We went up to Clear Lake (keep going north past Calistoga for a ways) last weekend w/ some of Jesse's co-workers (one of them has a cabin/house up there). I was a bit reluctant because I didn't know them very well, there would be small children, there would be scary watersports. But heck, it turned out to be a pretty darn good time.
The boat was baller. I tried kneeboarding (couldn't get up on my knees, but bellyboarding turned out to be OK), wakeboarding (did better than I thought, but never got up all the way), tubing (fun, but scary, but fun) and jet skiing (fun, but scary, but fun. but scary). We also went to an Indian casino up there, which was fun. And I had a banana milkshake from Fosters Freeze -- seriously, it was one of the highlights. That shit was so good. I encourage you to try one if you're into banana stuff.
Here are some pictures for y'all. His co-worker has some better ones, but these are what I've got for now.
Their house was right on the lake.
The cabin was a bit rustic, but pretty cool overall. Just hot.
Jesse.
I went on both of those.
Yay the boat! The only bad thing was I still felt like I was on the boat for hours after being OFF the boat. Sucky.
That is Doug, whose family owns the house/boat (but not a houseboat).
Look at how baller Jesse is. He was much better on the wakeboard (go figure).
Jesse attempting the kneeboard. He eventually got it.
Doug has a lot of experience with water sports.
That's Michelle, Doug's wife, and their 2.5-yr-old daughter, Grace.
She was pretty darn cute.
Seeing boat pictures makes me want to watch "Weekend at Bernie's." It IS the summer, after all. I try to watch that movie every summer ... or at least every OTHER summer.
