Apparently leaving highschool also means I left the internet. And most TV watching.
I remember how many hours I used to spend just surfing, or chatting, or laying down watching the tube. Not so much anymore.
One more week left in this semester, and I can't wait for the break. Really, I can't wait to get Tuesday over with. After Tuesday all my performances/accompaniment gigs will be finished and I can relax.
Time really does go by faster the older you get. I have no clue how it's already the end of the semester, but I think I've accomplished a fair bit, so it's all fine and dandy.
Hope you all had a good one too. I haven't talked to a lot of you guys in a while, but I'll be back in Hoover for a few days in the break, so I'll try to see as many people as possible (or as many want to see me too).
What's new? Um... UA is pretty lame. I like the freedom of my apartment but I regret that I don't know everyone on my floor like people in dorms do. Put up with the community showers and general sub-standard living conditions of an on-campus dorm your first year... otherwise it's much more difficult to find friends. People in apartments are usaully older, already have their niche, and aren't looking to be friendly. Apart from those words of wisdom, uh, I have a beard, I learned a couple of cool pieces on the piano, and I'm going to Oklahoma for about a week of Christmas to visit family, old friends, and my first piano teacher/mentor.
Lots of you are just now making your decisions on where to go to school. Don't be afraid of a little debt... if you're going into a responsible career path, that debt is a very good investment. Go somewhere not only where the studies are renown, but where the students are renown for actually caring about their education, and showing some sort of drive about what they want out of life. If the majority of your life is to avoid as much studies as you can so you can fit in as much football worship, alcohol-induced numbness, or coke, make sure you put UA on your list.
Good luck everyone on their end-of-semester exams or finals or whatever they may be.
