I officially go back to work tomorrow. I'm not really ready. I feel kind of lost at the moment, it's been three weeks, and it feels like it's going to take a little time to get back on track. Of course, I go back for a week and a half and then I'm off for a week and a half again. So it's really going to feel disjointed.

Funny anecdote of the day: We put a baby gate in front of Nolan's bedroom door when he's sleeping because he has a tendency to get out of bed... frequently. Today, for nap I decided to take it down so that when he woke up he could leave his bedroom. Instead, we hear yelling from his room. "Dad, put my gate up. Daaaad." Don't change his routines, dude. We actually had to call him out of his room. I think he was going to stand there at the door until someone erected the gate and then took it down.

Unfunny anecdote of the day: The plumber said we needed to open up the concrete floor in the basement. I suggested we call the relatively cheap concrete cutters. My dad said we could do it ourselves with sledgehammers. I spent an hour beating on the floor to create a one square foot "hole" in the floor. It doesn't even go all the way through the concrete. I think a couple hundred bucks would have been well spent. Instead, I guess the plan is now to rent a jackhammer. I don't know why I let him talk me into these things.
