Pre-launch applications are now open.
~ Read the rules and FAQ before applying.
~ Reading the setting post is a good idea also.
~ Check the taken list and reserves first. If the character you want to app is taken, you will have to contact their player to ask approval to create a duplicate, if you wish to.
Player Information
Name: Your name or online handle.
Personal Journal: Your own journal. A sockpuppet account can be used.
Contact Info: E-mail, IM services, Plurk. Whatever methods you use.
Other Characters: Anyone else you currently have in-game. If you currently have no characters here, you can mark this space as not applicable.
Character Information
Name: Simple enough.
Source Canon: Where are they from? Specify which version if multiple exist.
Point in Canon: If applicable. You can app a character from earlier in the canon and then canon update them multiple times throughout the game.
Setting: Links will serve if you have them. Original settings will especially need explanation to make sure we understand how your character's world works. AU settings should include an explanation of the differences from the setting they are based on.
History: Links to outside sources are fine. OCs will require more thought put into their history to give us a clear idea of where they come from. AU characters should include an explanation of the differences from the characters they are based on.
Personality: One of the most important parts of your application. It must be in your own words. At least four solid paragraphs minimum, and the more clearly you can describe your character, the better. That means writing as much as necessary, but also making sure it is quality material. If you can say everything you need to in four paragraphs, that's fine. Give us an idea why your character is the way they are. AU characters should include an explanation of the differences from the characters they are based on.
Abilities: Do your characters have any unusual abilities that a mundane human could not possess, such as magic, psionics, superhuman qualities, and so forth? Describe them here. Certain abilities will require permissions posts. If any of your abilities are affected within the setting, we will explain that in our reply to your application. Right now, resurrection and reality-warping abilities are the only ones likely to be affected.
Notes: Any special notes you might want to give about your character, not covered by the other fields.
Sample: Something that shows your character's voice clearly. Another very important part of the application. Multiple samples are very welcome if you have and want to give them. Please use something IC. You can link to RP you've done elsewhere, or write out a sample here. A prompt you can use is your character's reaction to finding their hometown gone, replaced by a huge toothy maw in the ground. Another prompt would be them seeing their own shadow twist and move in strange ways before forming into someone else's shadow and speaking to them. Or for something more mundane, something your character might say through the text or shadows.
