so my starvation did not last long. the BOSS realized i hadnt eaten and took me for lunch, so i get paid to eat a free lunch, and told what a great girl I am. he also apologized for not working closely with me today, but said he will still pay me what he promised ... because he is a man of his word.
while we were gone the computer illiterate admin guy opened a zip file attachment from someone he didnt know on the BOSS's machine without scanning it. Yes. you read that correct. we always wonder who the donkeys are that spread these viruses, I can introduce you to one if you like.
so i try to walk in and help him, because me being a computer adolescent am still quicker than these infants. he insists he knows what he is doing, i see he is running disk cleaner and almost start laughing telling him all that will do is free up space by compressing old files.
they call their tech guys (they have so many) one calls back who i have spoke with quite a bit. we have this techie bond, because we can complain to each other about their ignorance. i tell him what happened and how they wont let me touch the machine. so he walks them through simple things i could have done, another guy is coming out to check it just to be sure. so they will most likely end up paying several hundred dollars for something i could have fixed, or even worse, could have been easily prevented in the first place.
