THE HOUSE CONCERT IS A GO
REPEAT, THE HOUSE CONCERT IS A GO
On Wednesday, July 9th, aka the day before Readercon, I and my household will be hosting a house concert for the Banjo Apocalypse Crinoline Troubadours. They're a folk-opera-ballad-singer-poet-writer ensemble of great brilliance, and they don't perform together very often, but when they do it's a treasure.
negothick and I will open for them as the Midnight Belles.
When: Wednesday, July 9th. Doors open at 7:00, Midnight Belles start singing at 7:30, and the Banjo Apocalypse Crinoline Troubadours begin at 8:00.
Where: The Buttery. It's a private household in Dorchester, MA. Comment or shoot me an e-mail for address and directions. It's right on the Red Line.
How much: Free door, donations accepted. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. If you'd like to come, you must email me and tell me how many seats to reserve.
What to bring: yourselves, in fancy hats and festive outfits if desired.
Expect to see me bouncing up and down about this for the next month and change. Apologies if we share a lot of social media and you see it everywhere, but really, I want to get the good word out.
Please refer people to this post and invite them to e-mail me at aprilcatherinegrant at gmail dot com. I want to make sure this message reaches all the Boston-area people who would appreciate the genre-crossing brilliance of the Banjo Apocalypse Crinoline Troubadours.
There will be better press releases in a few days, but I want to grab the date right now and make sure that my friendslist is aware of the concert ASAP. Seriously, if you live anywhere near Boston and haven't heard these women sing and play, come to the show.
I can even provide lodging for the night if necessary--first come, first served. And the next day is Readercon! *sparkly eyes*
