I'm back from the festival.  Everything went great.  Honestly, I can't think of a thing I'd change about this weekend.  The Symposium attracted many more people than I'd imagined, and I read my paper in front of a large crowd packed into a medium-sized lecture hall--the perfect combination, in my book, as long as everybody is enthusiastic (and they were).  It went over very well, I'm delighted to say, and it was entirely worth all the time I put into the paper.

My arms are kind of noodle-like from carrying bags upstairs at the moment, so I'll do a proper update later.  Just wanted to not leave you guys in suspense.  Plans for today include: taking it easy, going out for a long walk, visiting the library and lying around watching old films.
