American Horror Story = Twin Peaks

I think this guy summed up my thoughts about American Horror Story perfectly:

It's extremely erratic and weird, and it doesn't seem to know if it wants to be an all out camp fest or horror. The pace in the pilot was insane.

Haha that's pretty much what I did. I figured Ryan Murphy usually gets at least the first season right, but this time I'm not so sure.

I just wish it would...take itself a little more seriously? Do you know what I mean? The x-Files and Twin Peaks, both were seriously creepy shows.

There's so much mediocre stuff on tv right now, but I'll keep watching the show as well *shrugs*

Yeah, I kind of reacted to it the same way I reacted to the first season of True Blood - it wasn't what I expected or wanted it to be and the camp factor took me right out of it.

Why is it so hard for cable to pull off a good straight up horror series, btw? Like The Walking Dead is pretty mediocre. It seems like it should be doable.
