Rose for AClairePetrelli (Happy Birthday)
The rain was coming down pretty hard. The drops trickled down my face. My clothes soaked.
I try to protect it beneath my jacket. Worrying about crushing it.
I approach the door and knock.
Inside I hear the babies screaming.
"Shhh. It's okay. Lizzie...Cathy. You are fine." I hear her try to calm them.
The door opens
Even with all the chaos in her life she still always has a smile on her face. It beams at me right now.
Before she says anything I draw out my surprise.
1 perfect red rose.
I lean over and kiss her cheek. "Happy Birthday, Claire."
