A friend was visiting from out of town this weekend, and for dinner on Saturday night, we decided to go down to the hotel lounge. For the first time in a long time, the ‘whole gang’ (ok, not whole, but minus 3 who were no longer living in the city) was reunited. As we sat, talked, laughed, reminisced, and exchanged the all-too-familiar-yet-sorely-missed banter, in this hotel lounge w/ the piano man singing Ray Charles, I had ‘a moment'...
Funny enough, I thought about Dawson’s Creek. The series finale, when they all get together at the Ice House and it’s like nothing’s changed.
I looked around at us and just said “man…it feels like we haven’t done this in ages”. When in reality, I’m sure we have, just with maybe a few of us at a time. And in the end, it was just a nice feeling to be surrounded by these people who I share such a rich history with. At least, it’s rich to me.
What can I say - I am just such a sucker for shit like this.
