Among the many things I discussed with the mater last night was my hair. She wants me to get a haircut, which I admittedly need, but I only want a trim because I am trying to GROW MY FUCKING HAIR DAMMIT BECAUSE I WANT BEAUTIFUL LONG CURLY LUSCIOUS HAIR AND I THINK IT'S TOTALLY POSSIBLE BUT PEOPLE KEEP THWARTING ME IN THE ATTEMPT. i cant help much with thin, short hair, as i have forever had long, thick, wavy/curls. Without knowing your own hair routine i only have a few general healthy hair tips which I'm sure you're already aware of anyways. :)

- Trim every couple of months to keep it healthy, once you get split ends if you continue to let it grow then it is pointless as that length has to be chopped.
- How much artificial product do you use? unless your hair is very oily or dirty you shouldnt really wash it more than twice a week as it washes away the natural oils and using shampoo so much isnt good for you, any excessive product use can also cause dryness. Dont use other products (mousse, serum etc) more than once or twice a week either.
- Always visit the hairdressers for any cuts and colours.
- If you often use lots of heat stylers (hair dryer, curlers, straightners) then let your hair air-dry when you can.
- Brushing very wet hair, sleeping in braids or ponytails can cause breakage.
- Dont blow dry hair when it is wet as it can also cause it to break as well as it is more heat exposure.
- Try to use specific hair products for your type of hair ie dry, oily, coloured etc.
- Make sure you are brushing your hair correctly and using the right type of hair brush

I'm lucky that i seem to have naturally quite nice hair. It is my defining feature and my security blanket - i definitely hide behind my hair. My particular hair type allows me to wash it only once a week, detangle and apply curling mousse then leave it to dry. I use the hair-dryer only to style my fringe.

yeah, I've been pretty good lately with looking after my hair. I don't use shampoo any more, I only comb it just after it's been conditioned with a wide-tooth comb, I've stopped using heat on it, etc. I'm probably going to be going to the hairdresser tomorrow. we'll see what they say.
