Things are good on the home front.
So much has happened in the last year my head spins when I try and think all the way back to when I knew something had to change. While it started 3 weeks into my sophmore year in college when I discovered I was irritated with the idea of graduating with a film degree and nothing else....I still felt I had to continue. I'm glad I did because then all the other ups and downs wouldn't have led me to New York City.
I am here in the big apple, staying with a friend of my mom's friend (Gods honest truth, it's all about who you know in life). Her name is holly and she located on the upper east side. i've spent the last few days putting off homework and NBC to sightsee. Yeah thats a bad thing but I've discovered lex ave and park ave are my new favorite places. Not to mention i bought a pair of pants with suspenders on the at the 5th ave H&M.
It scary how much i've been into clothing lately. It started out as filling that void and feeding the depression when I wanted to come home from GA very badly in March. But now its become an addiction...so much that my 2nd day at work @ nancy & co in Southampton i bought a 400$ bag! Half price of course...so it was really 200. Still...thats half a pay check.
My boss amanda and her friend and my co-worker Steph, introduced me to all of their friends and one in particular whom I took an interest in, Ian. We spent the last few weeks of summer hanging out, we even saw 'half nelson' which I loved and he introduced me to the group 'broken social scene' which i cannot stop playing on repeat. I must mention 'bloc party'- banquet, as well another favorite of Ian's and a pretty sick song i must say.
All in all this was the best summer of my life as i stress again, but I can't stress it enough. I love that I'm on my own in New York and really trying to dig deep into myself to get at least SOME idea of what I want to do with my life, but the urban isolation is already getting to me 4 days in and I definately need to get a beer in here....soon. which brings me to Vianca. A girl I work with at the Nancy & Co. store in NYC. She promises to take me out to meet interesting people...but NYC has been very strict these days ever since that jersey girl was chopped up in an alley way in chealsea.
Marie Antoinette come out this weekend i believe as well!!!!
hope things continue to look up.
