Well, retire from the company I work for, at least. I am thinking I will still keep working, but will pursue more freelancing opportunities and explore business opportunities with Corb.
My mom eventually retired from her job at the university because she was just becoming burned out. I think if a job is making one feel negative towards it, it's time to leave it...even if it is helping with the bills. You don't want to get too stressed out where it affects you physically, which would require hefty doctor's bills.
Have a safe and fun trip! Where are you going to in Norway?
Thanks! I have been posting all of our excursions for the past 24 hours on Live Journal, but basically, we spent three days in London, then hopped on the cruise in Southampton and then went to Olden, Stavenger and Flam, with a stop in Belgium, as well. It's been an excellent adventure!
I think I am at the burned out phase--but also, my current role is not really one I love. I actually had been a supervisor years ago, but found I much more preferred the individual contributor creative role a heck of a lot more satisfying. Which is strange, I suppose, because in my night job, I clearly love to direct people, but I find that infinitely more creatively satisfying and I don't have to report to a million people or have to deal with the politics.
Really when I say retire, I mean, from this place. I spent twenty years at my last job, I am at 11 years at this job, and would kind of like to explore a career where I am doing my own thing. Is that possible? Freelancing, perhaps?

I absolutely adore the show. And would do it a third time if I can. The music is one of a kind.

The music was fabulous, that's for certain.

I will always stand firm that Chess is best done simply. No sets, no costumes...just a focus on the music and words and orchestra and Singers.
