Still here
Livejournal forgive me, for it has been several months since my last post.
I have excuses. I can even provide notes from the relevant authority figures, if necessary, but the important thing is this: I have not been idle.
Many things and people have filled my time. Family life has been rich, varied and, to coin a polite euphemism, often challenging.
Destructo Boy is now on to his second pair of glasses in roughly six months after turning the first pair into some kind of mangled modern sculpture. Meanwhile his associate, Pre-Teen Girl, has been trying on various personas for size as she enters the Finding Myself phase of her existence. She seems to have settled for the time being on being Whacky Random Girl - so much so, in fact, that I'm beginning to miss Moody Misunderstood Goth Girl, who said little but quietly sulked lots.
Oh, yes, I also turned 40 on April 12 - so far without any major mid-life crises. At least, none that weren't there already.
And for my birthday the ever-divine B gave me a lovely new guitar - an Italia Mondial in a lovely retro shade of green, for any of you who'd care to do a Google image search. That hasn't stopped my desire to fill the house with more guitars, though. I'm already plotting another addition to the six-string family. A nice Les Paul Standard in a pleasing honeyburst finish might do the trick - especially now that I've learned to switch off the part of my brain that screams: 'But you can barely play! There's no way you can justify spending that on a single guitar!'
So, anyway, I'm still here, still fighting the fight for truth, justice and common good manners in the face of online twattery. I may have been quiet here, but I've been keeping up with everyone's posts and happenings, even if I haven't been overly communicative.
You're a fine bunch of people, and it's a pleasure to know you. Mostly.
