Report and thanks.

My mom successfully underwent her full hip replacement surgery today. The actual replacement went perfectly and my mom's response to the rigors of surgery were exemplary. She was alert and talkative in recovery and by the time she got to her room where we could finally meet her at about 4:00 PM the anesthetics were wearing off and she was becoming uncomfortable and crabby. But the mind-shattering pain was no longer in evidence. I can imagine no surer sign of recovery then the presence of crabbiness and the absence of long-standing agony that was previously written on her face.

My deepest heartfelt thanks to everyone who sent a thought, prayer, or whatever our way. I am certain that it was a material part of the success of the day. Now I just need to get my dad to stay on-track so he eats & takes his meds. (Could use some help there too, actually)

Thanks again.
