K/J Engagement Party..

Well last night was the big night.  The engagement party for Krissy and Jason finally happened.  After planning, replanning, and then waiting for the date while simultaneously trying to keep it a secret from Krissy and Jason, I think it went rather well.  yimmy149 and I had cleaned up the hot tub this week so much later in the evening we finally got to relax in it.

My dad and grandpa were in town also for a funeral and a wedding so they stopped by in the afternoon to visit.  It was cool to see them for a bit.  The funeral was for a guy that my dad knew for a long time and even my mom knew him from high school.  He had provoked the police by firing toward them and they shot him.  It very much seems like he was attempting to commit suicide by police shooting.  Strange.  I would think that going to a funeral in the morning, then a wedding in the afternoon would be a strange experience.  Very up and down emotions all in one day.  I suppose you could look at the funeral as a happy time, celebrate a life, etc but I don't know that thats all you would feel.

Back to the party,  I think maybe it was the drunk people, or maybe the stupid people, or maybe it was the stupid drunk people, but I suddenly hit a wall last night and just decided I was done with the party.  I mean I was having fun, everything was good but I was just "done".  So I went to my room and stared at my clothes for a while  I felt really overwhelmed with the idea of packing for a 6 day trip.  indieradiochic asked me several times if there was something wrong and I really wasn't sure.  But I finally got it all ready -- batteries charged, clean clothes packed, toiletries ready, camera broken down into smaller pieces, etc.  After that I was still so freakin hot in my room I just layed there wishing it would cool down.  I didn't sleep much.  The house is TOTALLY TRASHED.  I feel bad that I won't be able to help clean it up but at the same time, I'm the one who cleaned most of it before the party with a little help from yimmy149.  Des cleaned the bathroom so that was good.

This morning my alarm went off at 4:50am, and I finally got out of bed around 5:30.  Cleaned myself up, closed up my bags and headed out.  Apparently Tully's isn't open before 6am on Sunday mornings so I was off to a "ROCKIN" start.  ;-) Got down to the airport, parked in my passport parking area and headed in.  I realized fairly quickly that I had parked at the complete opposite end of the airport from my gate so walking from D concourse to A14 took almost as long as the drive getting to the airport itself.  I decided not to check my bag, it's small enough to carry on and I'm sick of waiting for baggage claim all the time, and checking in sucks too.  "A" concourse is all remodeled now so it's pretty nice and there are moving sidewalks but not until you get past A6 or so which I find kinda lame.  That's a 1/3 of the walk by itself and it has a perfect straight path for a moving walkway.  This has to be the longest concourse in the airport by at least 50% and A14 is the LAST freakin gate.

So now it's 7:15am.  My flight leaves at 8am.  I have a sandwich, Tully's coffee (the Tully's in Concourse A saved me), a bottled water, Excedrin, and two magazines for the flight.  I'm stoked that I have an aisle seat..  I hate middle seats and I am sick of window seats because I want to be able to get out of my seat whenever I feel like it.  Now I'm chilling here waiting to board.
