I have spats of terrible computer luck (everything-I-touch-dies level) mostly on the hardware end. Software-wise I have to reinstall less often than most people. I get worms if I don't update regularly, that's inevitable, but I don't usually get viruses, even though I don't use antivirus software (it's caused me more problems than the viruses). Mostly that's through clean living and not reading email attachments.
My router's incredibly annoying, and goes down every time the temperature changes. My wireless card hates the number of random wireless networks around the apartment and frequently won't find mine. I think that the wireless protocol is just not designed to support that many different home networks. I don't secure my LAN because the drivers for my network card are ancient and the newer version won't download. So I think all that's par for the course.
But I'm one of those people who starts killing computers when I get stressed, and when that happens, it happens big. Big in the "don't let me log onto your computer remotely or you'll have a hard drive failure" sense. Only happened a couple of times, though.
I've had other people whom my computers didn't like. One of my friends, if he sat down in the chair next to my desktop, it'd crash. It was Weird. Some, but not all, I attribute to him probably kicking the computer a few times... then I think it developed a grudge.
I used to be able to take advantage of my tech support aura to make stuff work. Problems don't like demonstrating themselves in front of tech support because then they might get fixed, so they become irreproducable as long as tech support is on the line or in the room.
