Originally uploaded by technojce. I've been house-sitting for a friend this week. Really nice little house in North Minneapolis. What's nice is she lives near a park on the Mississippi River. The photo you see here was taken the morning after the first night I spent there. That, to me, is a very powerful reminder of just how cold it can get here. One night, it got down to 3 degrees ... bone-chilling cold.
But I learned something the other day: skipping rocks is much, much easier when the river is frozen.
