[Kay's sitting in the next booth over at the diner. She is now peering over Quinn's shoulder, looking at the iPad.]

Hey, is that what I think it is?

[He doesn't hear her at first, but then he shakes his head and sees Kay taking a peek.]

An iPad? Yep! Just got it sent back to me.

I always wanted one, but I never had enough money.

It's not too useful in Mayfield, but I loaded it up, mostly with books. I'm glad I did, since it's not like I can download anythin' here for it.

[Some things flash by the screen too fast to really see as he goes through the iPad's video and photo inventory. After a moment, this video plays.

[Kay is easily amused, so she's cracking up at this.]

Sadly I don't have too many videos saved on here. Had I known I was gonna be whisked away to the Land of No Internet, I woulda saved a whole lot more. I got mostly some books on here, music, some photos... got some recordings of my cousin playin' and singin', too. That kid's a genius.

Guitar. Not yet, but he will be.

[An MP3 begins to play on the computer of a beautiful, soft voice singing this song. There's something almost hypnotic about it.]

He's got an incredibly powerful hypnotic voice ability. So powerful that he can't even turn it off on his own.

[Kay listens up to a point, smiling. But then...]

[She gasps, clapping her hands over her ears.]

Relax! Ain't like there's a subliminal message or somethin'. And it ain't nearly as strong over a recording anyway.

[Slooooowly and cautiously removing her hands from her ears.]

Positive. Micky's about the nicest kid ya'd ever want to meet, anyway. Most of the time the kid never talks cuz he's too afraid of messin' with folks' heads.

Yeah, he's got it pretty tough, but if he ever gets that ability under control, he'll be king of the world.
