Free iPods for Duke Freshmen. What gives? I want one!
-I'm madly, madly in love with my new guitar. I was going to elaborate on that but I realized it would just sound stupid and nerdy. But basically I'm learning like the entire Rolling Stones catalogue (sp? am i british?), and I can more or less play every song I want to learn. I rule.
--A's game on friday night: the fact that I was drunk-dialing before we even entered the Coliseum is a good indicator of how the evening went. My associates and I got to our nosebleed seats without too much difficulty and, settled in and comfortable, I began chain-smoking and goading Joey to drink more vodka with me. He responsibly refused. The evening took a dramatic left turn when the man sitting behind me with his small children revealed that he was a cannabis club member and asked if my friend and I wanted to smoke a joint with him.
Of course we did.
Soon afterwards, we realized to our delight that we had made a terrible mistake - we'd fallen into another dimension, and the game (ok, everything around us) had taken on an unreal, cinematic quality. By the time Dotel retired the last batter things were more under control, and we floated down to the field on a sea of unfamiliar faces to watch a fairly mind-blowing fireworks display. And I was more or less sober by the time I went to sleep five hours later.
Then I was sick for the next two days. So I think maybe there's a lesson to be learned here, but I can't figure it out either.
I leave for Virginia in three days, and will return at the end of the month.
