Author notes: Happy 2015! :D *looks at books* I have rested for a long while now and I need to hit the books. And update the masterposts. And retype a fic. And update "Reaching you".  *sighs* 3rd day of 2015 and I'm already busy. XD

"Oh-chan~" Ninomiya Kazunari sang as he huddled close beside his classmate. "Oh-chan" is a pet name Nino gave to ten-year-old Ohno Satoshi, who presently looked at him with some disdain before going back to painting.

It had always been like this since the first art class they had. He had known that Nino had never really liked painting or drawing, but he wondered if that gave him the right to bug him every single art class instead of attempting to sketch and paint his own masterpiece.

Not that he particularly minded, but he was not about to tell him that and give him the wrong idea.

"Oh-chan, Oh-chan, what are you drawing?" Nino asked, resting his head on his shoulder and against the side of Ohno's chubby cheek.

"A beach," Ohno said as he painted a very light shade of yellow on the bottom on the page, deciding to let Nino have his bratty way so that he might leave him alone soon after. And he felt his shoulders grow lighter the moment Nino retreats away from him.

But all hopes of having a peaceful time with his painting vanished the moment Nino returned with his chair, propping his seat right beside Ohno, clutching his drawing block and pencil in his other hand.

"... Wh-what are you doing?!" Ohno asked.

"I'm drawing you," Nino said while pouting cutely, "can't I do that?"

"No," a voice spoke from Nino's other side. Nino turned to see Sakurai Sho looking at him with reproachful eyes.

"You should ask the sensei for permission if you want to move here, Nino-kun," Sho reminded.

"Oh, come on, Sho-chan! I won't be long!" Nino said as he proceeded to sketch out Ohno's face. Sho sighed resignedly as returned to drawing out a furry snowman.

Ohno decided to leave Nino be- after all, Nino's hands would be busy sketching him, and therefore he wouldn't have the capacity to bug him or his painting.

"Oh-chan, don't move," Nino said as he stopped Ohno from reaching out his hand towards the paint palette.

"But I need to finish my painting too!" Ohno protested, attempting to remove his hand away from Nino's strong grip.

"Come on, I won't be long! Just stay still!" Nino whined, his stubby hands holding Ohno's arm tight with no intention of letting go unless he gives in. Ohno pulled his hand back with equal fervour, but it remains firmly restrained by Nino's death grip.

Sho looked up, slightly annoyed at their commotion until he sees Ohno and Nino's arms hovering dangerously close to a bottle of murky water, which held Ohno's used paintbrushes.

"Ohno-kun! Nino-kun!" he said, "be careful o-"

But it was too late. In their melee, Nino accidentally knocked over the bottle, spilling out the paintbrush and its contents over the entire table and both their shirts.

Ohno watched his painting of the beach now soak up the dirty water, staining the azure blue sea with a darker shade of dirty green.

"It's ruined..." Ohno murmured as he held up the painting, "IT'S RUINED!"

He turned to glare at Nino, who presently looked meekly at him.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?!" Ohno yelled angrily, throwing his plastic paint bottle right at Nino, the yellow paint splattering messily onto his shirt. The surrounding students gasped in complete shock as they watched Nino, who stood up and gave Ohno an equally ferocious glare.

"What the- HEY! I DID NOT DESERVE THAT!" Nino growled, taking the nearest blue paint bottle and throwing it at Ohno, watching the colour spread and soak into Ohno's skin.

"YOU SURE DID!" Ohno shouted, taking the green paint bottle and throwing it towards Nino. Nino smirked and dodged quickly, and the paint bottle splashed itself onto an innocent bystander with pigtails.

"HEY! WHAT DID I DO?!" she shrieked, throwing her pink paint bottle towards a shocked Ohno, who ducked and resulted in it landing squarely on Sho's head.

"WILL YOU ALL QUIT IT?!" Sho yelled, squinting through the pink paint dripping down his face and throwing a purple paint bottle towards Ohno and Nino. This time, Nino was the victim, and purple paint dribbled down his shirt.

"IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! DON'T BUTT IN!" Nino shouted, throwing an orange paint bottle at Sho, who did not react fast enough and therefore had a huge amount of orange paint dripping down his shirt, mixing along with the pink paint from before.

"Oh, it's ON!" Sho growled as he threw the black paint bottle at Nino, but hitting Ohno in the process.

"Paint fight! Paint fight! Paint fight! Paint fight!" the other eager kids chanted and as more innocent bystanders got caught in the fight, the entire class ended up joining in the madness. Splashes of green, blue, brown and many other colours catapulted through the air, hitting each student on their uniforms and hair.

The teacher hummed happily as she walked down the corridor towards class, sliding the door open to be greeted by a flying bottle of red paint in her direction. The students looked up to see the teacher standing by the entrance, and silence settled in the classroom as her students watched her with bated breath. She stormed in, her arms akimbo and her cheeks growing as red with anger as the paint that dripped from her nose and her hair.

"WHO STARTED THIS?!" she bellowed angrily towards the entire class.

Fingers started pointing towards Ohno, and the teacher was honestly surprised. She had never expected Ohno, the most mild-tempered student in class, to fly into such a mad rage and start a paint fight in class.

"Ohno Satoshi," she said sternly, "why did you do it?"

"It's not all my fault!" Ohno protested urgently, "I was minding my own business when Nino kept bugging me and he even ruined my painting!"

"But he still was the one who threw the paint bottle at me!" Nino said.

"Don't you dare say that this has nothing to do with you! If you had left me alone, this would not have happened!" Ohno spat.

"ALRIGHT! ENOUGH!" the teacher yelled, and took deep breaths. She looked at everyone.

"Everyone, hurry up to the toilets and wash up. Change into your physical education attire. I will explain to your other teachers why you are all wearing it. And instead of painting, you will ALL clean up every speck of paint in this classroom before the lesson ends." she ordered.

She then turned to Ohno and Nino.

"Ohno Satoshi, Ninomiya Kazunari," she said sternly, "both of you will be due for detention till 5. I will notify the discipline master to expect you two to be in at 2pm sharp today. Feel free to skip it, but your parents will know of this... and they will not be happy to hear about it."

She turned back to the class.

"Everyone, if you do not wish to join these two in detention.. GET TO IT."

The entire class jumped into action.

"This is all your fault!" Ohno complained bitterly as he slumped down on his chair in the detention classroom, "I'm now two strikes away from getting my parents to school!"

Nino sat a few tables away from Ohno, speechless.

"Do you really," Ohno said, exasperated, "REALLY have to bother me in the very class that I like the most?! You don't see me tugging at your recorder in music class or interrupting you when you sing! So why are you doing this?!"

No answer.

"Are you even listening?!" Ohno yelled, whipping his head over to see Nino sitting in his seat, huddling himself up in a ball while staring ahead with a guilty pout on his face. For a moment, Ohno felt slightly bad for yelling at him- Nino did seem to truly regret his actions. He sighed, deciding to take out his painting to see what could be done about it.

His painting of the beach is slightly speckled with flying paints here and there, and the sea water is slightly greenish and blue, but otherwise the painting remained miraculously intact.

In fact, he was quite surprised to see that the sea in the beach actually looked better than the first time he painted it. Sure, it looked slightly murky, but it seemed a little more realistic compared to the first time he painted it over. He turned to Nino, approaching him carefully and hoping that it would make him feel better.

"Here," Ohno said, handing over the painting with some embarrassment. Nino looked at him in surprise.

"But... I ruined it, didn't I?" Nino asked. Ohno shook his head, pointing to the sea. Nino looked at it carefully and smiled. Ohno felt his heart skip a beat at the sight of the way Nino's lips curled.

"So it's not completely ruined.." Nino murmured.

"How about yours?" Ohno asked. Nino shook his head, resting it down on the table while looking up at him.

"Completely ruined, thanks to the paint fight," he said.

"... I'm sorry..." Ohno said, hanging his head with a sheepish look, "I shouldn't have thrown it at you after all."

"Well... I'm at fault too," Nino said as he looked back down at his shoes, "I was being annoying with wanting to draw and paint you. I won't do that again."

Ohno could not explain why he felt his heart drop a little when he said that.

"It's not like that!" he blurted, and Nino looked up at him curiously.

"I just.." Ohno muttered shyly, "I just wanted to finish my painting as quickly as I could. It was nothing personal against you. "

"... so you don't mind if I draw you again?" Nino asked with a hopeful look in his eyes. Ohno's cheeks flushed red as he shook his head.

"I don't mind..." he said softly.

Nino gave a thoughtful look and relaxed in his chair.

"Nah, I still won't," Nino said, and Ohno looked at him in surprise.

"But I said I don't mind, didn't I?" Ohno said.

"But I don't need to. After today, I'm quite satisfied," Nino said with a wry smile on his face. Ohno looked at him, completely confused.

"You looked nice even while getting covered in paints," Nino said as he turned to face Ohno and catch his questioning eyes with his playful ones, "you were the most beautiful painting I have ever seen."

Ohno felt his cheeks warm up at his words, and was quite sure his face must be putting those red paints to shame for quite a different reason.

"You still are, by the way," Nino said as he made himself comfortable on the chair, closing his eyes to sleep.

Ohno looked at Nino's sleeping form, and found himself slowly drawn to the seat right beside him.

At 5pm, the discipline master walked into the classroom only to smile at the sight before him. There, in the middle of the classroom, the two troublemakers from before sat in their seats, sleeping.

"I guess they made up after all," he thought as he walked over to wake them up.

The pair rubbed their eyes sleepily as they shuffled out of the school compound, their hands joined and fingers nestling comfortably against each other.

From then on, Nino never bothered Ohno in his art class again.

After all, he now has recess breaks to monopolise 'Oh-chan' to himself.
