Ok this one is insane - a cockroach controlled mobile robot. The strange thing is, the blurb says it feeds information back to the cockroach. I'm with the people who say "If these people turned their brains to doing something important like curing cancer, the world would be a whole better place" :P (although we're talking about robotics experts here... what else would they do with their time than put a cockroach on a trackball)

I also like the one this article where an American department wants to educate obnoxious americans (note the qualifier of 'obnoxious') to be less obnoxious. :)
