take my hand i'll give you shelter from the storm

Nothing ruins an outdoor reading session like a huge black ant crawling down your pants. INSIDE my underwear, and just EW. Ew ew ew EW EWWW. I managed to keep from flailing too much or publicly exposing myself, but anyone behind me with the bad timing to look up would have seen me with my hand down the back of my own pants. But there was an ANT. And. I just. Ew.

So, after my trek uptown to fetch decent sunscreen, I wound up spending only an hour an a half outside, and mostly in the shade. See, I went to the little market outside the dining hall, but they only had sunscreen that was SPF 15. The sun laughs at SPF 15. Maybe I'm just thinking too much about Florida, where I don't take a step out the door unless I'm slathered in waterproof SPF 45 at least. So I went to CVS and bought SPF 50 (it was the same price as the SPF 30, all right? And I really, really don't want melanoma). Also, sunscreen? Is fucking expensive. I had $8.50 on me, and I figured that'd be plenty for a little bottle of sunscreen and a candy bar. Um, nope. It was $9.99, and I had to charge it, which pisses me off. But it looks like it'll get plenty of use, because it's going to be 95 on Monday. NINETY FREAKIN FIVE!! WTF? It only got that hot about five times last year, and I don't think it happened until at least July.

There are MASSIVE thunderstorms about to move into southwestern Ohio right now. Seriously, you could drive from Cleveland to Paducah and be under a severe thunderstorm warning the whole time, if you drove really, really fast. Y'all know I love storms, because I jabber about them every time one rolls through Athens. But I do not like seeing tornado watches for my home county when I am not in said county.

So. Distraction. Supernatural premiere reruns tonight! So I can watch it from the start like I never got to before. *happy dance*
