if you're so smart, tell me why are you still so afraid?

So...talked to my Director of Studies today, so that I could register for classes (only about three weeks late...I suck). I may have possibly suggested that I might have my prospectus in by the end of this quarter. Which is the second(?) week in March, and therefore patently impossible. Next quarter I think I'm only taking Latin and about 12 thesis hours, so that I will get the damn thing done. At any rate, I'm going to start really cramming in research time, which will be oh-so-fun with my 10-page Latin research paper and that story I have to write.

So that's my plan for tomorrow. Tonight--memes!

Congratulations, you are one of the many admirers

of Maglor. His defining characteristic is

his singing. He is the nicest and sweetest

of the Feanoreans, and the only one to

survive the First Age. He can be influenced

easily, too. Unfortunately, his brothers

will always be better at it than you.

Which Son of Feanor should you fancy?

Haha, I knew it! I didn't even cheat, I swear.

1. Open your media player ( Winamp, whatever..) and set it to random.
2. Post your favorite lyrics from the first 25 songs that play.
3. Put this in your journal, and see if people know what you’re listening to.
4. Oh, and no cheating! No Googling lyrics and whatnot. Not that I think y'all would cheat...would you?

I like this one better because favorite lines > first lines. Now with an artistic lack of capitals that has been passed down through my family for generations!

1. you and me killing time in the present tense / bound together / by someone to fight against
2. after my picture fades and darkness has turned to gray / watching through windows, you're wondering if i'm okay / secrets stolen from deep inside / the drum beats out of time--"Time After Time," by Eva Cassidy, Matchbox Twenty, or Cyndi Lauper, guessed by honeyinterstice
3. i'm a sad-sack sir galahad / whose sword's around his knees / with the grail no longer holy / and a prayer that's saying "please"
4. i'm not the same / can you blame me? / is it hard to understand? / i can't forget / you can't change me / i am not that kind of man
5. i just bought a waterbed / it's filled up for me and you--"Love Song from a Different Point of View" (aka "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw?"), by Jimmy Buffett, guessed of course by pirate_lass
6. you may say i'm a dreamer / but i'm not the only one--"Imagine" by John Lennon, guessed by pirate_lass
7. and all not lost still in my eyes / a shattered necklace across your thigh / i might've lived my life in a dream, but I swear / this is real / memory fuses and shatters like glass / mercurial future, forget the past / it's you / it's what i feel--"Leaving New York," by R.E.M., guessed by Elizabeth the Anonymous
8. close your eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams / purge your thoughts of the life you knew before / close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar / and you'll live as you've never lived before --"Music of the Night," from The Phantom of the Opera, guessed by jainadurron
9. what a dream i had / pressed in organdy / clothed in crinoline / of smoky burgundy / softer than the rain--"For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her," by Simon and Garfunkel, guessed by Elizabeth the Anonymous
10. (everyone is so self-righteous) / get up everyone, oh, / we're on our own now / (lift your head again and try this)
11. in a house where regret is a carousel ride / we are spinning and spinning and spinning and now / there's a hole in the ceiling down through which i fell / there's a girl in the basement coming out of her shell--"St. Robinson and His Cadillac Dream," by the Counting Crows, guessed by Elizabeth the Anonymous
12. someday we'll all be gone / but lullabyes go on and on / they never die, that's how you / and i / will be
13. now the valley cried with anger / "mount your horses, draw your swords!" / and they killed the mountain people / so they won their just reward--"One Tin Soldier," from The Ballad of Billy Jack, guessed by honeyinterstice, who should definitely be proud.
14. it's easier to lie and be safe / time and time again i'm half stalled / one giant leap of faith is easy / when everyone you ask is so sure / just give it a second thought / what if we don't get caught?
15. i can hear the soft breathing of the girl that i love / as she lies here beside me asleep with the night / and her hair in a fine mist floats on my pillow / reflecting the glow of the winter moonlight
16. she's been looking like a queen in a sailor's dream / and she don't always say what she really means
17. let's sail away to where the blues and greens swirl into grey / let's sail away / let's sail away past the cradle of these waves
18. Haven't had a dream in a long time / see, the life i've had / can make a good man bad
19. he says in love and war all is fair / but he's got cards he ain't showin' / ... / and he can't even run his own life / i'll be damned if he'll run mine
20. benedictus qui est venit / in nomine Domini / in nomine / in nomine / in nomine Domini
21. roamin' through this darkness i'm alive but i'm alone / and part of me is fighting this, but part of me is gone
22. maybe you're the knight / who saved my life / maybe we faced / the fire side by side / here we are again / under the same sky
23. i've been looking at pictures, but i don't know why / 'cause it's not the same / i remember your features, but the voice is gone / and i'm so ashamed
24. je cherche en vain les mots / pour m'expliquer ta vie, alors / tu ments, ma soeur / tu brises mon coeur
25. i know you / the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam / yet i know it's true / that visions are seldom all they seem--"Once Upon a Dream," from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, guessed by jainadurron and pirate_lass

I just leaned against the window to see if it was snowing and I got a static shock to the head. I think I should have superpowers now. Or an aneurysm.
