Mighty essay!
I need to knock out more of these. Yay for work for being ABSOLUTELY DEAD?? YAY FOR SEVEN MORE HOURS OF THIS?!
BIG BROTHER # OHGODIDON'TEVENKNOW /o/ I-I think I need to go back and revise that family list of hers Hopefully, if my memory hasn't failed me, I think they met during the one plague with the falling rice? Yukina wound up cooking a bunch and invited anyone over to eat it. I'll have to go back and look at that one day to see if I'm right, but it's the first impression that counts, right? ;;
Yukina's shy around new people, but she's also predisposed to have an open mind, so she befriended Mighty quickly enough. She found him to be a kind source of wisdom and I think that reminded her of her guardian from back home a bit. It might have been even from that first meeting that they fell into the role of siblings, but who knows. Yukina has never had a problem with talking to Mighty about things on her mind and does her utmost to listen when he has his own issues to deal with. Which he does, the poor guy.
Their best moments... the stargazing? Probably?? Yukina gets really contemplative when she looks at the sky and this was the first time she'd really stargazed. Even when she has company, she still gets pensive and thoughtful. So she and Mighty were talking about things taken for granted that people didn't always stop to appreciate, like freedom (which is a BIG thing for Yukina and is probably why she's so damned optimistic now) and... whoops love came up (another big thing for her SINCE YAY RELATIONSHIPS IN HER SOCIETY ARE NOT GOOD D:). Much to her surprise, Mighty suddenly got awkward and uncomfortable and eventually explained what was bothering him. And so Yukina found out about his crush on Mia and instantly supported him. She'd met Mia and liked her and she liked Mighty, so it was only natural to want them both to be happy, right?
And other cute moments, like Squirrel!Mighty and Kitten!Yukina in the rain, more bonding, etc.
Worst... weeeell.
I think of three things. One was the dream event where Mighty thought Yukina was his little brother and, as with Mia, she was helpless to do much to help him. AND WHILE MIA PINGED HER MOMMY SENSES, MIGHTY PINGED HER BIG BROTHER SENSES? Geez you two, way to remind her of her ded mom and her AWOL twin :< But yeah, she was upset over that and very worried about Mighty. It's hard to reassure someone when they're dreaming, you know.
The second was when she learned that Mighty was dead. Technically. See, to Yukina, "dead" means "nothingness". Her friend Botan's a ferrygirl for Reikai, but Yukina sees her as a spirit and not dead. Ash is... Ash. Not dead. Not in the way she sees it, anyway. And both Mighty and Mia seem much too alive and spirited for her to ever see them as "dead". So when Mighty's all "UH I'M DEAD DX" she panicked. A part of her was terrified that Mighty would become nothing, too.
AND THE THIRD WAS WHEN GODOT CAME AND MIA LEFT MIGHTY. ;-; Don't get me wrong, Yukina isn't angry with Godot or Mia. She wasn't even angry with Shirobon when she learned that he was the one who'd made the wish for Mighty to forget his feelings for Mia. But it HURT to see Mighty trying so hard to pretend that everything was just fine and that he wasn't in pain because of it. Yukina can understand that, because she's done that herself. But she didn't even try to say any words of comfort because... well, first of all, she didn't know what had happened. And even if she HAD known, what can you say to something like that? So she just hugged him. (I love how she didn't even know they were together for a bit, dense Koorime is super super dense.)
To summarize, Yukina worries about Mighty a lot. Not in the protective "I MUST DEFEND HIM" sense, but more in the "He keeps things to himself and he seems so SAD so I want to help" sense. She really CAN relate to that, except Yukina never had people who cared about her loneliness or her sadness until she was rescued. And she doesn't want Mighty to go through that. Ever. Again. She's grateful that he's helped her out in a bunch of situations, so of course he's another big brother she wants to help in any way possible. Will most likely be spending more time with him soon. ONCE SHE CAN SEE AGAIN. XD
