A ray of sunlight penatrates the window reminding me that morning never sleeps.
I squint my eyelids, try to fight the glow, but it never works.
So I shut the drapes, and crawl back into the sheets.
And I just close my eyes.
I just want to sleep.
But I find my feet on a cold floor, walking aimlessly through a hallway full of memories and empty picture frames.
Oh how I want to see the world and all of its pretty things. But I cant see it from this bed, so I awake.
I fear my heart is heavier than this world, so I'll never see the things I want to see.
I squint my eyelids evading everything around me, walking in a slumber, and making believe.
Open my eyes so I can see.
Open my words so I can speak.
Open my lungs so I can breathe.
Open my heart. And let it beat.
