for the past few weeks my mum and i have been trying to find a day that we both have free to go shopping and spend some time together and it finally happened on friday and it was really lovely. my mum had been telling me for a while about this dress she saw in alannah hill and how she knew that i would love it and she really wanted to see me wearing it. so we went in to try it on and naturally there were 10,000 other things in there that i would love to own as well, but the dress my mum found was amazing. so she bought it and a matching belt for me as my big christmas present, and it's also for me to wear to my cousin's wedding in february. it's such a stunning dress, i love it so much. unfortunately though, because it's a christmas present i won't actually get it until christmas so i don't have any pictures of it. though if i have an occasion to wear it before christmas the i'll be able to take some pictures then!
the woman in the shop that served us was really lovely as well. she had a similar kind of style to me and was obviously into alternative music as well, and sometimes people like that can be quite snobby and rude, but she was really sweet and helpful and was complimenting me and finding matching things to go with the clothes i tried on and it just made the whole experience a really nice one. it makes a difference when the people working in a shop take the time out to pay attention to you and help you when you need it, especially when it's an expensive purchase.
i also found the most PERFECT swimming costume for summer! i needed a new one that fits and i've also been looking for a particular style that was quite hard to find, but i got one in the end and i adore it! unfortunately that too is a christmas present so i don't have any pictures of it either until i need it to go swimming. but when that happens there will be pictures!
also, i went to see marlow again the other night with nikki, harriet and liz which was good. and on saturday night i saw mest with tahlia and steph. even if their music isn't that good i haven't listened to them in years, FINALLY seeing them live (as they've never played in australia before) was awesome and it made the 14 year old inside of me very happy! hahaha. they played all the songs that we really wanted to hear, and during the encore steph put on her big teletubby costume (don't ask) and tony, the singer, was like "it's a fucking teletubby!" and got her up on stage with them for the last song, hahaha. it was amazing.
after the show we walked back to tahlia's car for her to drop steph and i at central and there was a huge grasshopper in her car!! steph was in the back and wasn't that bothered by it but tahlia and i freaked the fuck out and jumped out of the car screaming! i stood farrrr away and the two of them tried to get it out of the car, but it disappeared. so i reluctantly got back in and as tahlia was about to pull out i was like "now you have to live in fear of it still being in the car, hahaha HOLY FUCK THERE IT IS!!" and i jumped out of the car again! hahaha. tahlia then finally (and bravely) got it out of the car for good and i jumped in and slammed the door and we sped off before it could attack again.
i started looking for some fairy lights in about janurary this year to be told that they only sell them around christmas time so i've had to wait until now to finally get some, haha.
