busy. busy. busy. busy. busy. thankfully things are finally starting to slow down. i finished and submitted the report that i've been working on all year on the beat generation and it ended up being 13,500 words. i've still got a presentation of that report and an exam left to go (on the 18th and 19th) and then i've finished university forever. my supervisor for the subject that i wrote the report for is strongly encouraging me to do honours next year so i went to an information session to find out about it, but i'm still not sure. i have been looking forward to taking some time off studying for so long now that i couldn't handle having that taken away from me, let alone starting work on a thesis straight away (which i would pretty much have to do). so i've decided that i definitely won't be doing it next year but the option is still there for 2011.
i've been to a lot of shows lately. well, i don't think you really count book readings/speakings as shows, but i went to both of chris gutierrez's speakings while he was here, bought his fifth book and got it signed, which was lovely. he's a great guy. i saw joshua radin with elly as well, and a friend's band called marlow who are actually quite impressive live. and i saw nas again which was incredible! he is honestly such an amazing, talented person and even though the crowd at his show was about 98% male and i looked completely out of place (i don't exactly look like a hip hop fan) i had a really great time. and mark managed to get us front row centre seats on the mezzanine level so we had an awesome view. AND in fulfilled a dream i've had since i was 13 and i first got into nas a bought a nas t-shirt! they didn't have any the last time i saw him which sucked, so i bought an XXL this time and i'm going to cut off the neck and wear it as a dress with leggings.
benji and joel from good charlotte also played a last minute 'secret' acoustic show while they were doing some promo stuff here so i went to see them with a bunch of friends. we all had a great time and they freaking played seasons which actually made my life! i've been wanting to hear that song live since 2003 and they finally did it! hahaha. they were really funny, down to earth kind of guys too so they made the show even more enjoyable. and afterwards tahlia and i stuck around and met benji because he's the only one that neither of us had met before, so that was awesome.
harriet and i FINALLY set up our
ebay store as well! we've got heaps more things to list but we're going to take our time with it so that we don't run out of things to sell and have nothing to put up, haha. but we've got quite a few things in there already so you guys should check it out and see if there's anything you like. :] AND now that i finally have some free time i can start reading again! i'm so excited about it. because this last semester at uni took up so much of my time i've hardly been able to read so i've got around 15 books to get through before i've finished the 50 book challenge for this year, but i'm going to try my hardest and hopefully i'll get there in time!
i really want to change the way i use this journal. i hate leaving it so long in between entries but now that i finally have some more time i'm going to try and make more of an effort with updating regularly and keeping up to date with everyone else's entries like i used to! sigh.
