Websites When in Rome by
cartographyRating: R
Summary: you're a bad influence. some things never change.
How did Nate and Sophie end up in bed together anyway? "When in Rome" is an unflinching look at the relationship between mastermind and grifter at the end of Season 3. Set in the "missing hours" of the San Lorenzo Job, the story explores the good and the bad of Nate and Sophie from each point of view, and in the end helps you understand that even though they may not be hearts and flowers and eternal bliss together, they are nothing short of perfect for each other.
Note's on Nate's Fridge by
mizzy2kRating: T
Summary: Hardison's haikus, Sophie's shoes, Parker's peppiness, Eliot's Embarrassing-Red-Bull-Addiction, Nate's nihilism... The team is bonkers. - As is plainly evidenced by Nate's fridge.
The heart of the show is the Team, how they interact - basically, their relationships. The unique format of this work makes it a must-read regardless, but it uses its conceit as a platform to explore the family dynamics of the team in a concise and hilarious manner. The summary barely scratches the surface; these facets of their personality and more rollick past, leaving the reader wishing the show would give us even a fraction of what Mizzy has given us here.
These Things that Were &
Not that Man by
scout_lover Anyone looking for a canon-compliant take on all the subtext hinted at in The Big Bang Job won't do any better than these two fics by scout_lover. "These Things That Were" gives the reader an insightful and heart-breakingly sensitive look into Eliot's relationship with Damien Moreau.
"Not That Man" is the definitive "missing scene" fic from The Big Bang Job. Hardison and Eliot hash out their lingering feelings from the pool scene, and reach an understanding with each other that feels completely organic to the characters.
Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop by
mzmtigerRating: K+
Summary: The team has always assumed that when Nate needed to cool off, he headed to the nearest bar. That's not quite right. Takes place sometime in the early second season, I think. Not quite sure.
Waiting for the Click by Fleur27
Rating: T
Summary: Hardison’s Birthday gift for Parker
It’s a sweet and insightful look into the pairing with a pitch perfect side of grumpy Eliot. It’s a fun happy read.
The Simplicity in Complication by Sapphire Smoke
Rating: M (For Sex)
Summary: Everything is always so backwards with Parker.
Both of them are so in character it makes you believe the EP pairing could actually work. It’s told from Eliot’s perspective you can feel his frustration and the moment he falls for Parker so perfectly. This is one of my top favorite fics ever. I’ve read it like six times. If you aren’t an EP shipper this might just make you one.
Interlude by
whimoffateRating: PG
Summary: Sometimes it takes a Hitter to be a friend to a Grifter....
Set between seasons two and three this fic explores the friendship between Sophie and Eliot.
The Mr Mom Job by Miss Meggie
Rated: T
I’ve been told this fic gives you a unique look into the team dynamic when they’re faced with Eliot’s 4 year old daughter Katie. You might view Eliot differently after reading it or at least I hope so! It took first for best EP in the Leverage ff.net awards too!
Steady as She Goes by moirariordan
Rating: T
Summary: Parker and Eliot get married sort of…
This takes place within a con but the character development happening within it is primary, it goes seamlessly from con to internal story. The characters are all present in their own way and it makes it feel as though it s an actual con. All the while the voices of Eliot and Parker are spot on. It will have at least one scene that sticks with you after reading it. For me its Tai chi and Lucky Charms.
a place for us by Cata_Clysmiic
Rating: PG-13
Summary: “I’m flattered.” Those dark eyes are sparkling in the Syrian moonlight, and her sharp mind is reeling, lightning-quick. “Well, Nathan Ford.” She takes her time saying his name. Each syllable makes his heart beat faster. One stiletto heel is already taking a step backward. “You’ll have to catch me first.”
Eight glimpses into the evolution of Sophie & Nate's relationship over a ten year period. The story spins a believable backstory that any newcomer to the fandom can weave directly into the canon relationship. The fact that it's a fun, sleek and sexy romp doesn't hurt either.
Distance Only Causes Silence by Cata_Clysmiic
Rating: M
Summary: Sophie was thinking about how sometimes you loose your identity willingly through things like whiskey and guilt and other times you loose it through names that aren’t your own. She was thinking about men like Eliot, men who are nothing but iron until someone finally takes the time to realize they’re really just soft gold.
A rich exploration of the screwed up relationship between Nate, Sophie & Eliot that takes a "what if" approach to Nate and Eliot's confrontation in The Snow Job. Shows remarkable insight into what makes the characters tick, and addresses the impossibly hot Eliot/Sophie chemistry in a very satisfying way.
Whatever it Takes by
drhelenmagnusRating: T
Summary: Sophie/Nate. Sophie finds a way to help Nate with his addiction, but his first step is to accept that he had a problem. One shot.
The Question Mark Job by
ratherastoryRating: PG-13
Summary: Eliot comes down with the flu during a job.
A lot of brilliant case fic seems to get produced for fandom charity auctions, and this is one of the best (it was also Runner Up for best case fic in Round One of the Fulcrum Awards). It takes a simple premise and weaves a tight, tense plot around a terrific look at the characters and how they interact with each other.
After the Rain by
fleurlbRating: NC-17
Summary: Eliot and Sophie drown their pain in the aftermath of The Maltese Falcon Job.
Even with the explicit rating, this is a deeply emotional story. Eliot and Sophie struggle to make sense of Nate's decision to turn himself in and figure out how - or if - they want to go forward as a team. Also explores the chemistry between Eliot and Sophie in a way that doesn't dismiss the Nate/Sophie (or Nate/Eliot) pairings at all.
His Father's Son by
telarynRating: PG-13
Summary: Timestamp to the 10 L'il Grifters Job - Abandoned by Sophie to be alone with his liquor, Nate thinks about his past, and why it bothers him so much that everyone assumes he's capable of cold blooded murder.
This story explores Nate's complicated relationship with his father, and the emotional abuse he likely suffered growing up. The reader sees a plausible explanation for why control is so important to the Mastermind, and why it terrifies him that his life's path seems to be taking him ever closer to becoming the one man he never wanted to be.
Deck the Tree with False Blossoms by ishie
Rating: T
Summary: Once upon a time, they take a job they shouldn't.
This story slips through a never-seen con, interspliced with insights on team interactions and the team relationship both poignant and funny. Short enough to be a perfect lunch-break treat, it holds enough of the soul of the show to keep you full until dinner.
The Ties That Bind 'Verse by
telarynRating: up to and including NC-17
Summary: Nate has a daughter he didn't know about. Trouble is, trying to build a relationship is tough when the supernatural gets involved. (Crossover with Buffyverse)
Every now and then you find a crossover story that just makes *perfect* sense. This 'verse is one such story. Weaving together two such apparently disparate fandoms and making you wonder why you don't actually see Faith on the show every week!
You Can Lead a Parker to Water, But You Can’t Keep Her From Blowing Up The Stream by lears_daughter
Rating: G
Summary: You’d think by now they’d realize that Parker just doesn’t think the way they do.
The world through Parker's eyes is always a bit skewed. The team should probably know that, but the fun happens when they - temporarily at least - forget. Snapshots of the team emerge as Parker bounces through the ranks, and by the end one key observation is revealed about Parker and her place in the team.
The Anniversary Job by
maab_connorRating: NC-17
Characters/Pairing: OT3: Eliot/Parker/Hardison, Nate, Sophie, OCs
Warnings: Language, kidfic, casefic, m/m/f sex
Winner of Best Casefic for Round 1 of the Fulcrum Awards, this one has it all. In the midst of a case where they acquire a kid, Parker begins wondering about how to spend her anniversary with her boys. If you want a fun, believable look into the OT3 dynamic, check this story out.
