for John Sheppard

All Black by Good Charlotte
It's a dark dark world and there's evil out there and you know its only getting worse.... Like Johnny Cash, all black. This song if John Sheppard. Over the seasons his outfit changes from a more hopeful blue to a resigned black. It references Johnny Cash's The Man In Black which is a song about wearing black for the people who can't speak up for themselves. And I think that's John Sheppard. He fights for everyone.
Born to Lead by Hoobastank
John is rebellious, doesn't follow orders well, but he was born to lead. I think this captures his black sheep nature really well.
Carry On Wayward Sons by Kansas
Carry on, my wayward son. There'll be peace when you are done.... Masquerading as a man with a reason, my charade is the event of the season. John went to the Pegasus Galaxy not knowing to expect and over and over he just has to carry on, he has to keep going. He can't ever stop, because he saves much more than just himself.
Comfortably Numb by Dar Williams
John's been through a lot in his life. He still manages to get through the day, though, and it could well be that he's had to become Comfortably Numb to deal with it.
Desperado by the Eagles
The lone hero of the Pegasus, with the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders, yet he remains alone. You've gotta let somebody love you, before it's too late.
End of Me by Apocalyptica
John seems to have this suicidal need to save others... even at the cost of himself. He'd give up everything for anyone. This song signifies that sort of abuse that he puts himself through.
God Will Cut You Down by Johnny Cash
John's rivalry with Koyla was very intense... but he did win in the end. I think this song captures that really well.
New Kid in Town by the Eagles
Everybody's talking 'bout the new kid in town. Sheppard definitely made his mark on the Pegasus Galaxy. From the moment he stepped through the gate, Sheppard had a major impact on the future of the galaxy and was the focus of both the good and the evil citizens of the galaxy.
None Of Us Are Free by Solomon Burke
John takes the thought of "no man left behind" to a level that might be considered insane or suicidal. It's because he feels, deep down, that he's responsible for everyone around him, and that he can't rest until they're all okay.
Sacrifice by Theory of a Deadman
John Sheppard is the sort of man that has morals in place that no one is able to change. He chose to follow the call of military service instead of doing what his father wanted him to and that was responsible for years of struggle between father and son. The father, a businessman, trying to make his son see that the right path would be following the family business and taking care of a patrimony that took generations to build, and son, dreaming of blue skies and freedom, wanting nothing more than to serve and protect, following a call from his heart in order to do what he most loved doing: flying. None of them were able to see the other's pleas and, in the end, John chose not to make the sacrifice his father wanted and followed his own path in life. No I don't want a family who would damn me - and resent everything I am - I don't need to prove to all the ones who - Feel that I need to fit in - No I won't ever tell you that i failed you - I'd rather start life over again
Smooth Operator by Sade
He moves in space with minimum grace and maximum joy. John Sheppard is a smooth operator whether he moves a relaxed, loose-limbed gait or in a taut, engaged military stance...definitely a smooth operator.
Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel
Sheppard was desperate for something to change and was suddenly being offered an amazing opportunity that he couldn't explain to his friends or family. So I went from day to day, though my life was in a rut; 'til I thought of what I'd say, which connection I should cut. I was feeling part of the scenery; I walked right out of the machinery, my heart going boom boom boom. "Hey," he said, "Grab your things, I've come to take you home. (I would like to note that now that I've seen the video it appears to be about alien abduction? By, erm, cabbage people? Eh...close enough.)

for Todd the Wraith

I Wanna Hold Your Hand by The Beatles
Todd wants to hold your hand...but you don't want to hold his!
Oh Death by Jen Titus
This is a very haunting song... and I think it captures Todd and possibly the role that Wraith play in human societies in Pegasus.
Somwhere, a Clock Is Ticking by Snow Patrol
Todd has power, and yet we so often see him vulnerable. Every second dripping off my fingertips (I could do most anything to you) - Wage your war, wage your war (I could do most anything to you) - Another soldier says he's not afraid to die (I could do most anything to you) - Well I am scared, I'm so scared (I could do most anything to you).
The Unforgiven II by Metallica
Todd is such a unique Wraith. Most that we saw (Other than Michael) were all sorta badass but nothing more. Todd... Todd was damn dangerous but you wanted to hang out with him. This song captures the time spent captive and his unbroken will.

for John Sheppard & Todd the Wraith

For Good from Wicked
There are many things about Wraith Sheppard doesn't know. Thanks to Todd, he's learning--and Todd's learning too.

for the Wraith Queen

End Of All Hope by Nightwish
She is the Queen and this is such an epic song. To be faced with her... would be the End.

for the City

Home by Daughtry
Atlantis is home...
Porcelain by Helen Jane Long
Atlantis has this ethereal beauty to her. Her hallways are said to sing to those with the Ancient gene, almost like the haunting melody of this song.
Prayer by Hayley Westenra
Let your arms enfold us - Through the dark of night - Will your angels hold us - Till we see the light Atlantis was dormant for centuries, waiting for her people to come back to her once again. She had been created as a place of refuge, given the very best of everything so that she would be a pinnacle of achievement for everyone to see. Without those people, she was nothing but a shell. Then one day they came back to her. She began to wake up, turning on lights and systems as they walked through her hallways once again. All that they asked of her, she would give them because she wanted them to stay forever this time.
Shir la Shalom by Yaakov Rotblit
It's a song of hope. Of standing in defiance and not allowing anyone to break them down. I thought it would fit Atlantis.

for City/John

Love Letter to Japan by The Bird and the Bee
The chair in Antarctica must have been an incredible experience for John, but I think it truly hit home for him when the he reached Atlantis. I think in that moment he fell at least a little bit in love.
